It’s still firmly in the development phase – two newly announced shopping plazas will fill the retail void soon – but the Lake Nona ’hood is well-heeled and poised to become a hub for those with well-endowed wallets. As the Medical City grows, so will the offerings in the area, but there are some spots that warrant a trip down Narcoossee Road (Nona’s main thoroughfare) already. What once was cow pasture and campgrounds is now a sprawling suburb, but 44 miles of walking and biking trails through pine and scrub oak keep the remnants of the old Orlando alive.
