Growth spurt for veggie chain

You know the trend for healthy eating has taken root when even the fast-food eateries, once focused on burgers and fried chicken, are increasingly adding salad bars, meatless soups and baked potatoes. But by far and wide, the Sweet Tomatoes chain offers the most vegetarian/low-fat options.

In addition to the Altamonte Springs location, two new Sweet Tomatoes have popped up within the last month: at Colonial Promenade and just off International Drive. There are dozens of salad toppings; six soups, including a three-bean chili; and sourdough and multigrain breads. The help-yourself buffet isn't only for veggie lovers; there are always meat dishes, whether in the form of Tuscany sausage pasta or chicken-noodle soup. The cost: all you can eat for $6.29 at lunch, $7.49 for dinner.
