Fatten up your cooking abilities

If you keep hearing from friends and family that you should open a restaurant because your cooking is so good, maybe you should give Susie Godsey a call.

Godsey runs Susie's Culinary Secrets, a cooking school on Howell Branch Road in Winter Park (407-628-5982). Here she shows off the skills she learned at Paris' Le Cordon Bleu, by teaching things like authentic rustic Italian cooking techniques. Godsey herself conducts some of the classes, while others are run by local chefs, including instructors from the Disney Institute.

Hands-on sessions run about two and a half hours, where a maximum of 12 students cook a full-course meal from salad to dessert ... and then they eat it! Complete with wine, the one-night class costs $65. There are also demonstration classes (you don't cook) and wine seminars (you drink). Get out of your kitchen and into hers.
