Exhausted and elated: Photos from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's Orlando show
As roars of "Bruuuuuce!" filled the air, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took the Amway Center stage. Though it was only the third night of their tour, the Boss and his band were already a well-oiled machine and went hard with a three-hour career-spanning show.
Bruce and his longtime musical comrades roared through a 20-song set that included joyous readings of "The Rising," "Thunder Road" and "Because the Night" to a crowd dancing and singing along to every word and note. Notable impressions included Jake Clemons' (nephew of the much-missed Clarence) positively electric performance on the sax, Springsteen's onstage shout-out to the the Apopka nonprofit Farmworker Association of Florida, and Springsteen striking a somber note during "Last Man Standing" with, "At 15 it's all hellos in front of you, at 73 it's a lot of goodbyes."
After the main set, the band returned for a seven-song encore that included all-out runthroughs of "Born to Run," "Dancing in the Dark" and (fittingly) "Glory Days." The night ended with all involved exhausted and elated.
