Dexter's readies to wine and dine 

Dexter's of Thornton Park will revive its wine-tasting dinners with a soiree at 7 p.m. Monday, March 1. Depending on the response, there may be monthly events.

Owner Dexter Richardson will host the dinner, with help from several wine distributors. The experts will mingle with guests and explain the character, properties and nuances of the flights of wine accompanying all five courses.

The dinner begins with pan-fried potato-crusted snapper with herbed cappellini, and lobster bisque. A salad of baby leaf lettuce, endive and spinach will be dressed with spring-onion vinaigrette. The entree is a pecan-encrusted lamb with garlic flan and Provencal vegetable Napoleon, followed by dessert of fresh fruit trifles.

Reservations are $50 per person; call the restaurant at 648-2777.
