Carry-ons for the whistle stop

Taking a train trip sure seems attractive these days, doesn't it? A big comfy seat (with lots of legroom) that doesn't leave the ground is very appealing. And it gives you plenty of time to eat. You can use the dining car, where the food isn't half bad, or the snack bar, where it is, but your best bet might be to load up on soup and sandwiches at Incredibly Edible.

Situated across the street from the downtown Amtrak Station (1321 Sligh Blvd., 407-835-7573), IE serves Boar's Head cold cuts, whole-grain bread and homemade quiche and soups. Get an "Irish Myron," corned beef and Swiss on a potato caraway kaiser roll; a "Thai one on" wrap of chicken, sprouts and rice noodles with peanut sauce; or the "happy coyote," a concoction of smoked turkey, avocado and cheddar on focaccia.

Get two, in case the stop in Jacksonville gets unbearable.
