Straight-up no-nonsense barbecue comes at a price – flavor. There's better pulled pork, brisket and chicken to be had elsewhere, but they do baby back ribs well, and that's no small consolation. Sides are hit-and-miss, but pork and beans and fried okra are worth ordering. Pies – pecan, sweet potato, Key lime and Mississippi mud – are made by Mike's Pies out of Tampa.
