Bass Drum of Death – S/T

On paper, these Mississippi boys are the prototypical garage-punk band. But what makes them both exceptions and stars of the genre are focus, consistency and force. Whether it’s melody, execution or just straight-up balls, they’re the thrillingly complete package. And this full-throttle sophomore LP proves that they’re only picking up steam. The electrified and frayed pop of “Shattered Me” and “Crawling After You” manifests instant, shit-losing pogo classics. Lots of bands have the scuzz and fuzz; however, few aim it as sharply as these guys. This is full, shambolic rock & roll glory, but with straight-razor instinct.
