Transhood – Four trans kids in Kansas City bare their souls to documentary cameras that spent a full five years following their trials and triumphs. Thanks to Twitter, it only takes J.K. Rowling five minutes to shit all over them. (HBO Max)

Adventure Time Distant Lands: BMO – The first of four spin-off films from the late Cartoon Network series features the gender-indeterminate robot BMO in a story of galactic peril. Just don't go to Kansas City, kid, because they'll eff you up. (HBO Max)
Doom Patrol Season 2 – More adventures of the oddball superteam that's currently being billed as DC Comics' "D list." Dammit, looks like we're never going to get the Inferior Five show we deserve. (HBO Max and DC Universe)
Search Party Season 3 – After a hiatus of a few years, the return of Search Party finds Alia Shawkat's Dory becoming the toast of millennials the world over when she goes on trial for murder. Hey, they need something to fill all that time they don't spend voting. (HBO Max)
Premieres Friday:
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga – The international music contest that gave us ABBA is the backdrop for this feature-length comedy, which casts Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams as an Icelandic singing duo in pursuit of the top prize. I've loved this movie every other time Ferrell's made it, so I'm glad he's found a way to keep on doing it even though he's used up every sport known to man. (Netflix)
Premieres Saturday:
Dark Season 3 – The final episodes of the German sci-fi series see our heroes struggling to bring time and space back into alignment. Remember when we all still thought that was possible? Ah, April. (Netflix)
Premieres Sunday:
I'll Be Gone in the Dark – A six-episode adaptation of the true-crime exposé Michelle McNamara was working on when she died unexpectedly, leaving husband Patton Oswalt shattered. Yeah, overall, this week is just not a gift from the comedy gods. (HBO Max)
Premieres Tuesday:
Welcome to Chechnya – State-of-the-art facial-reconfiguration technology is used to protect the identities of Chechnyan refugees as they describe the horrors of their country's anti-gay purges of the late 2010s. Aaaand I'm out. Maybe next week, Ken Burns will slip on a banana peel or something. (HBO Max)
