Orlando meteorologist Amy Sweezey wrote a children's book about the weather

Local meteorologist Amy Sweezey is publishing her second children's book on Oct. 22.

The WESH-TV weatherwoman adored by voters in our annual Best of Orlando awards (she places every year) announced today that Let’s Talk Weather, TV Forecasting: Behind the Scenes is now available for order. The book is geared to children ages 8-12, and gives them a firsthand look at how meteorologists gather information and work to keep people safe during dangerous weather.

Sweezey has several local appearances scheduled, where she'll be both selling and signing the book. Here are three that are confirmed so far:

· ICS Fall Bazaar – Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4800 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park

· Viera Comics – Saturday, Dec. 2 from noon to 3 p.m. at 7640 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne

· Orlando Science Center – Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 777 E. Princeton St.

Her first book was also about the weather: It Never, Ever Snows in Florida
