This morning, F0x 35's Jackie Orozco tweeted a picture of a receipt allegedly showing a case of Zephyrhills water going for the outrageously bloated price of $22 from a Shell gas station at Ronald Reagan and Dog Track Road.
Stores who are caught breaking Florida's strict price-gouging law are subject to a fine of $1,000 per violation and up to $25,000 in damages for multiple violations within a 24-hour period.
Price-gouging, or dramatic price increases for essential items such as water, food and gas, is prohibited by Florida law in a state of emergency, which Gov. Rick Scott declared on Monday.
