Florida is the 10th worst state for millennials, says study

It's no secret that Florida is known for its snowbirds and retirement communities, so finding out millennials here have it worse than other places across the country isn't really too surprising.

But according to a new WalletHub study, Florida is the 10th worst state in the country for the millennial population, which covers people in their late teens up to their early 30s.

Wallethub analyzed statistics across 24 categories ranging from things like the unemployment rate, voter turnout, and how many of you still live at home.

Florida was at bottom of the list in almost every metric ranking.

The state ranked 50th, or second from last, in the percentage of millennials with health insurance coverage.

It ranked 48th in the percentage of millennials living in the state altogether (no surprise there) and 48th in the percentage of millennials still living with their parents.

Florida fared slightly better in other categories, ranking 38th in the country for average monthly earnings of millennials and for the millennial unemployment rate.

Its best category was millennial homeownership, where Florida came in at 27th in the country.

The best place to live as a millennial, according to the study, is North Dakota, which dominated categories with a high percentage of millennials living there and a low millennial unemployment rate.

It should tell you something that young people living in a frozen tundra have it better than those living in a sunny tropical paradise surrounded by the ocean.
