A man brought what he thought was a "baby cheetah" last Thursday to Fire Station 7 on South Goldwyn Avenue, according to the Orlando Fire Department. Firefighters initially thought the animal was just a kitten, but after a Google search, they realized it had "bobcat similarities."
The fire station's crew sent the photos to the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge and Education Center in Orlando. Kelly Verduin, the organization's administrative manager, came to the station and confirmed the baby kitten was actually a 2-week-old female bobcat.
The cub was handed over to the refuge for nursing but not before she was named "Bob" by the firefighters and made us want to protect her at all costs.
WKMG 6 reports the baby bobcat is doing well and should be released back into the wild in a few months.
