The In-Between performance series has been presenting the best in local avant garde music for over a year now, but the majority have been instrumental performances. This will change squarely on Monday when Lush Agave takes the stage. The solo vehicle for classically trained vocalist Alisha Erao, Lush Agave creates her music around intricately interconnected vocal loops and choral drones. The voice is the instrument, or more accurately, with Lush Agave the voice is the orchestra. Taking cues equally from Meredith Monk and Joan La Barbara with echoes of the work of Dead Can Dance and perhaps even Laurie Anderson, Lush Agave's work is enchanting and adventurous. The moods created are hushed, hymnal and healing. As always, these shows are free.
