Just as the sun's peaking and everyone's scrambling to get their playlist set to fun, one of the city's most summery bands is just about to crack open a fresh batch of jams. Local indie pop-rockers Pathos, Pathos have been effectively honing their playful sound on stages for a while now and they've finally captured it on record. Their new EP, Pet Names, is a salvo of five impossibly optimistic tunes that are easily their sturdiest and most focused to date. The collection's a beaming beach ball of sparkling guitars, sharp melodies and irrepressible bounce. Cover charge to the release show includes a copy of the EP and a four-band bill that also includes Gravel Kings, Kinder Than Wolves and Gary Lazer Eyes. Go nab your summer soundtrack and help the boys kick off their month-long East Coast tour with some Taco Bell money.
