Kevin Fonzo visits NOLA, Matthew Cargo leaves Prato, and 5 new restaurants

Chef Kevin Fonzo (K Restaurant) flies to New Orleans in November to take part in the annual Boudin, Bourbon & Beer festival, joining 50 other chefs, bourbon specialists and beer brewers. Tickets are $99, available at boudinbourbonandbeer .com.

Chef Matthew Cargo is leaving Prato, the Italian "bistro" he created under the mentorship (and ownership) of Luma chef Brandon McGlamery, to join rising young chef Tim Hollingsworth in his first solo venture, Otium, in Los Angeles.

The former Cityfish space currently being renovated is slated to open in early October (though based on what we know of restaurant timelines, that may prove ambitious). Chef Greg Richie has reconceptualized the Thornton Park room as an Asian gastropub, with a lower-priced menu than his adjoining Soco.
