Underground hip-hop juggernaut Nickelus F set to impress at Soundbar

Richmond rapper and underground legend Nickelus F has pulled off that rare trick in hip-hop, a career that balances credibility and longevity on his own increasingly creative terms. Nickelus F first caught national attention in the early 2000s after winning 106 & Park’s Freestyle Fridays for nearly two months straight. In 2009, Complex magazine named him one of their “Ten Most Underrated New Rappers” and in the aftermath he may or may not have done some ghostwriting for Drake. But it was his collaborative tape with Lil Ugly Mane, the unmatchable Trick Dice, that reintroduced him in a big way to the popular consciousness in 2015, seemingly better than ever. Last year saw Nickelus F – a mainstay member of Richmond’s AGM (Association of Great Minds) hip-hop collective – release new album Stuck, a stunning portrait of a man in the midst of personal and creative changes. Do not miss this force.
