Three workers injured at I-4 Ultimate Project in downtown Orlando

Three construction workers were injured Friday after falling 15 feet while pouring concrete on the eastbound ramp to Interstate 4 near Amelia Street in downtown Orlando.

WFTV 9 reports the incident on the I-4 Ultimate Project comes a few days after work resumed on the project after another worker, James Hardy Mills, was struck and killed by a 20-foot pipe on Feb. 4.

Mills was the fourth worker to be killed while working on the I-4 Ultimate since it began in 2015. After Mills’ death, work on I-4 was suspended for a week, according to WFTV.

Fox 35 reports the three workers were injured Friday around 10:30 a.m. while they were working on an elevated platform, according to their employer, SGL Constructors. The workers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The eastbound ramp has been reportedly re-opened.
