Review - Issues

Artist: Korn

More like a therapy session set to music than a CD, "Issues" is the perfect title for Korn's latest. Case in point: On opening track "Dead," Jonathan Davis starts off by singing, "All I want in life is to be happy." Isolation, pain and loneliness are the dominant themes. Issues, indeed.

Not a star-studded affair like 1998's "Follow the Leader," this disc is pure, unadulterated Korn. Sure, there isn't an uptempo song in the bunch, but that does not take away from the disappointment-free recording, with standout cuts "Trash," "Beg for Me" and "Let's Get This Party Started." In the trivia department, Issues has four different covers, thanks to a contest held by the band, with the yellow doll chosen as the winner. Not showing any signs of going away anytime soon, Korn remains a heavy band to be reckoned with.
