Some people have the gift of blarney and some don't.
At this event, you have a chance to find out if you're one of those people. The Orlando Story Club is back for it's second installment of crowd-sourced story-goodness, with the theme "And then everything changed." Potential Story Tellers scrawl their names onto a piece of paper and in a scene straight out of Harry Potter, a hat decides their fate. Ten names are drawn from said hat, last month it was a top hat - because official, and then written in the order they were drawn. That is the speaking order for the night.
Each speaker gets five minutes to tell their story before the whistle - the sound of an oncoming ghost train- is blown to let them know their time is up and to clear the tracks for the next presenter. Check out their YouTube page to see some of the speakers from last time.
This month there will be live jazz music and soul food. The host is magician and entertainer, Travis Winkler, so don't eat during the show or you'll be snorting red beans and rice.
The show goes from 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the Maitland Civic Center, 641 Maitland Ave. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased HERE and all proceeds go to the Joe R. Lee Branch of Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
