At 10 a.m., State Attorney Jeff Ashton's office announced that it declined to seek charges against an FBI agent for the deadly 2013 shooting of Ibragim Todashev. In a 529-page report, which we're reviewing now, Ashton concluded that there was no evidence that the agent acted with malice, committed misconduct or deserved to be criminally charged for shooting Todashev.

leaked word to the
Washington Post last week that this would be the outcome of the report – Ashton's office said it did not know who leaked the information, but Hassan Shibly, dexecutive director of the Florida chapter of the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the organization that helped spur Ashton’s office into investigating the mysterious shooting in the first place, said last week that it was the U.S. Department of Justice that "irresponsibly" fed the news to the
Post.
