Regardless of how you feel about the classic TV show The Brady Bunch, you can’t deny the program’s impressive legacy. After five successful seasons, The Brady Bunch became the quintessential model for the middle-class American white family, and a go-to example of old-fashioned red-white-and-blue ideals. Decades after the show’s conclusion, 1995’s The Brady Bunch Movie spoofed the zeitgeist nature of the show, and tonight Breakthrough Theatre adds its own spin to the beloved sitcom with the full-staged production The Real Live Brady Bunch. Directed by Jason Newkirk, the play surrounds two episodes from Brady past – “Dear Libby” and “The Not So Ugly Duckling” – providing audiences with their fill of love-struck tween Jan Brady (Alexandra Milbrath) and, of course, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia (played by actress Adriana Milbrath, who may or may not be a real-life relative of Alexandra Milbrath). Everybody’s laughing. It’s a Sunshine Day. – Marcus Griggs
