Through Jan. 20 – Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Returning to Orlando’s stages after nearly six years away, John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask’s acclaimed play-turned-film about an East German transgender rock star, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, will be staged this month at the Abbey. In the Wings, a not-for-profit local production company whose recent works include The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, will be presenting tonight’s show. Hedwig and the Angry Inch, directed by Spencer Crosswell of local playhouse Theatre Downtown, stars Joshua Eads-Brown and the hilarious Janine Klein. It’s the first indie-theater production hosted at the Abbey and promises to be a riot. – Casey Morell (opens 8 p.m. Wed., various showtimes through Jan. 20 at The Abbey, 100 S.
