The 2011 film festival circuit was unofficially kicked off in February with Sundance and Slamdance and continues to chug along as Austin's SXSW festival ended last week, and the Florida Film Festival will be upon us shortly.
A couple of UCF students will have their films screening this year, so here is a heads up about the where and when:
UCF MFA alum and current visiting lecturer, Andrew Gay’s feature film A Beautiful Belly will have its world premier at the Florida Film Festival. The screening will take place at Enzian on April 16, 4pm. A meet and greet with Andrew, the cast and crew immediately following.
Undergrad Edgar Jorge’s short film A Coincidence of Sorts will also screen at the Florida Film Festival in the Florida Shorts program on Saturday, April 16th at 1:30pm.
Christopher Harris’ 28.IV.81 (Descending Figures) is an improvised double projection film that was edited in-camera at the Holy Land Experience Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. The film will premier at the Ann Arbor Film Festival on Saturday, March 26th, and will also screen at Experiments in Cinema v 6.3 on Sunday, April 17th.
Alum Brendan A Kingsly’s short film One Over Wanderlust has been entered into competition at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. (See link for multiple dates and times.)
