N.Y.P.D. looking for night action

Lunch hours were the exclusive focus of N.Y.P.D. when it opened several years ago. But the opening of the nearby Orange County Courthouse changed the demands.

Owner Paul Russo found that some of his lunch crowd were looking to return after work and that more people in general were venturing out of surrounding neighborhoods in search of dinner.

So N.Y.P.D. expanded its hours, serving until 9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. Monday. N.Y.P.D. also expanded the menu. There's less emphasis on the deli sandwiches and more on the pasta dishes, such as lasagna, chicken Marsala, ravioli and gnocchi (most under $10). The "marinaro pies" remain a favorite, from 16-inch pizzas ($10.95) to the stuffed extravaganzas ($24.95).
