A welcome freeze for summer

I first noticed little refrigerator trucks with a picture of a swan on the side several months ago, the words "ice cream" and "Schwan's Home Delivery" catching my eye. What genius, I thought, came up with this brilliant idea?

Turns out the brain behind the ice-cream delivery, along with a vast multitude of other frozen foods, is one Marvin Schwan, a dairy farmer from Marshall, Minn. His company has been bringing frozen pizzas, desserts and complete cooked dinners to people all across the country since 1952. Everything from pancake breakfasts to smoked salmon to apple pie comes off the trucks twice a week, with quality equal to or better than supermarket brands.

And any man who will hand-deliver huge containers of "chocolate double-fudge brownie" ice cream right to the door is a friend of mine. Check out the website www.schwans.com for details.
