Winter Park church will hold vigil tonight for Parkland high school shooting victims

A candlelight vigil has been planned Sunday at a Winter Park church to honor the victims of the Parkland high school mass shooting.

Just five days ago, 17 students and teachers were killed after a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County.

Tonight's vigil starts at 6:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 225 S. Interlachen Ave., in Winter Park. The vigil is being sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Orange County, Florida Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence and the Orlando chapter of Moms Demand Action.

The Florida Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence was formed almost two years ago in the days after the massacre at the gay nightclub Pulse in Orlando.
