Be My Neighbor Day salutes Fred Rogers in Central Park

We’re all in agreement that Tom Hanks is the perfect casting for an upcoming biopic about Fred Rogers, host of beloved children’s program Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. And this weekend, Winter Park’s Central Park hosts the annual Be My Neighbor Day just a few blocks from Rogers’ alma mater, Rollins College. The day in the park may be geared more toward young fans of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood – the current PBS kids program populated with animated versions of characters from Rogers’ “Neighborhood of Make-Believe” – but Rogers’ legacy will still get acknowledged through educational panels from the Winter Park History Museum.
