20 Orlando public pools to crash this summer

We don't need to tell you; you feel it like a 10-pound weight on your head every time you step outside. Summer is now upon us.

But that's not all bad. Few things can beat hopping into a pool after a long day in the sun. So, we've put together a list of some free (or affordable) public pools in the Orlando area to help you make a splash this summer.

Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex

2009 Lake Margaret Drive, Orlando, FL 32806, (407) 254-9820
This pool is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents are required to pay an entry fee of $2 per person or $60 for an annual pass. This price also includes tennis courts and other recreations offered by the facility.

Dover Shores Pool

1400 Gaston Foster Road, Orlando, FL 32812, (407) 246-4298
The Dover Shores pool is open Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. They also offer swimming lessons, water aerobics and competitive swims. The best part: going to the pool is completely free.

College Park Pool

The College Park Pool is open Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. They also offer swimming lessons, water aerobics and competitive swims. Using the pool is free for residents.

James R. Smith Pool

James R. Smith Pool is open Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. It’s free to get in.

Wadeview Pool

Wadeview Pool is open Monday to Friday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. There is no cost to get in.

Rowdy Gaines Olympic Pool

The “Rowdy” Gaines Pool is open Monday to Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. They also offer adult lap swim. There is a $2 fee for residents and $3 fee for non-residents.
