New Smyrna Beach is without a doubt one of the Orlando area's favorite patches of sand. Over the years this small beach town has blossomed into a hub for serious foodie joints, with a wide variety of restaurants and bars to choose from. We've gathered a few mandatory spots everyone should check out at least once.

Third Wave Cafe & Wine Bar

Stop by Third Wave for their famous crepes and coffee, brewed from beans courtesy of nearby Island Roasters. Just three blocks from the beach, take a break from the sun and lounge in the cool cafe and grab brunch in the outdoor patio loved by locals and tourists. Arrive early for happy hour at the bar from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and finish off the evening with dinner served under the twinkling canopy.

Tayton O’Brians

This Irish Pub and Grill is a brief walk away from beach access, and hosts outdoor seating. Tayton O’Brians offers the largest beer selection in the area and serves homemade Irish-style dishes, like the Dublin Stacker Melt and Chicken Cordon Dublin. Drop by for weekday specials, like Tuesday Irish Night, and weekly entertainment.

The Garlic & Blu Bar

Italian cuisine, live entertainment and a worldwide selection of wines can be found at The Garlic & Blu Bar. If you’re looking for seafood specialties, fried platters and a taste of Hawaiian style dishes, Off the Hook Raw Bar & Grill is the place. It’s located in the Indian River Village Plaza and houses over a dozen flat screen TVs for sports lovers. One of their most popular menu items—oysters.

The Breakers Ocean Front Restaurant perfectly describes itself with its name. It’s located at the end of the Flagler Avenue strip, so it’s a good spot to people-watch while enjoying some liquor at the bar. They have 17 different burgers to choose from on their menu. As they like to say, “take a break at The Breakers”—you definitely can’t miss the baby pink building on your way to the beach.

Flagler Tavern & Pilar Bar

The Flagler Tavern has a little bit of everything for everyone. The downstairs Pilar Bar and deck serves traditional food and drink in a nautical atmosphere, and The Bounty at Flagler Tavern upstairs serves premium cocktails as well as the full restaurant menu. Let loose on the dance floor with every day live entertainment. Happy hour starts early Monday through Friday until 8 p.m, and brunch with mimosas served Saturdays and Sunday mornings.

Cafe Verde

Racing’s North Turn

Racing history began at the exact location of Racing’s North Turn Restaurant and Racing Museum. In 2007, the restaurant was recognized as a historic landmark. It’s been voted Florida’s Best Beach Bar 8 years in a row. Enjoy live music with an ocean view, and try the prime rib sandwich, named in honor of legendary North Turn Racing driver Russ Truelove.

Norwood’s Treehouse—yes, an actual treehouse—is known for its handcrafted cocktails and freshly caught seafood.
