UCF finds coach willing to take a shot at resurrecting terrible football program

University of Central Florida announced Tuesday that they've found a coach willing to resurrect their 0-12 football team from the grave.

UCF has hired 40-year-old Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost. "Scott is a winner and innovator who has directed one of college football's most exciting offenses at the University of Oregon," UCF athletic director Danny White said in a statement.

Scott has never been a head coach. However, he was a former quarterback at Nebraska, and has been with the Ducks since 2009 and was named offensive coordinator in 2013.

Replacing longtime coach George O'Leary, Scott hopes to instill a winning attitude in the UCF program, who, just two years ago, defeated Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl and were coming off back-to-back AAC titles.

"UCF is an excellent opportunity for me because our student-athletes can succeed immediately, both competitively and academically," Frost said in a statement. "We've had great recent success — I vividly remember watching the Fiesta Bowl victory. With our student-athletes, football staff, facilities, fans and supporters, I know we will bring exciting and winning football back to Orlando."
