The Pavilion That Could Have Been

If you live in Florida odds are you’ve probably visited the Walt Disney World Resort a few times. At some point you may have noticed the seemingly random African stuff between the pavilions representing China and Germany at Epcot and wondered what that was all about. It’s actually the last remnants of the planned Equatorial Africa Pavilion which was supposed to open way back in 1983. The theme park blog Disney and More has prepared a fascinating and extensive examination of the scrapped project that includes previously unreleased concept artwork.
