The federal government's ongoing investigation into whether or not Russia meddled in the 2016 election has cost taxpayers $7 million over the last five months, which is about equal to Trump visiting his Florida resort two times.

According to the Department of Justice, Robert Mueller's probe has racked up $3.2 million in costs, and another $3.5 million was separately spent by law enforcement personnel not under Mueller, reports CNN.

For some comparison, a single visit by President Trump to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach costs taxpayers around $3 million, according to the Government Accountability Office report. Though the exact number is unclear because the White House won't comment on travel expenditures, these estimates are based on previous president travel budgets, and Trump has a hell of a bill.

So far, Trump has golfed 78 times since being elected. Not only does this surpass Obama's monthly golf rate, but it's also costing taxpayers roughly $83 million. If you're doing the math, that's almost 12 times the bill for Mueller's Russian investigation.

Trump has spent 31 days at Mar-a-Lago as president, and is expected to visit his so-called "Winter White House" again this weekend.
