Former Winter Garden commissioner Bobby "Bobby O" Olszewski handily won a special election Tuesday for an Orlando-area seat in the state House, replacing Eric Eisnaugle.

Olszewski defeated Democrat candidate Eddy Dominguez with just over 55 percent of the vote, according to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

Dominguez entered the District 44 race late after Paul Chandler, the only Democrat who qualified, dropped out last month after questions were raised over his residency and eligibility. The party replaced Chandler with Dominguez, but he had only about three weeks to campaign.

Dominguez raised just $6,507 in that time, whereas Olszewski raised $127,530 during his campaign, finance reports show.
