;(2010-368472) 2:36 p.m. – A pain-pill scofflaw who passed forged prescriptions at a Walgreens months ago was finally picked up. The report says that on May 18, a pharmacist at a Walgreens was "unable" to verify a prescription for a customer "therefore the prescription was filled and given to the arrestee." We're not sure why the pharmacist would fill an unverified prescription, particularly if it were for Oxycodone. But that's neither here nor there (although maybe it should be). The arrestee was given 180 tablets of Oxy (that's 18 grams, for those counting) and sent on her way. "The pharmacist received confirmation that the prescription was a forgery," so she contacted police. The arrestee was caught Aug. 6 and charged with trafficking in Oxycodone over 14 grams and for obtaining a controlled substance via forgery.
(2010-368539) 3:29 p.m. – In a completely unrelated pill-popper arrest, a different woman was pulled over and found to be in possession of 14 grams of Oxy and 20 tablets of Xanax.
(2010-369165) 10:39 p.m. – Panic at the disco! Well, panic in the general vicinity of the disco, at least. A couple of 22-year-olds got into it on Orange Avenue, right in the middle of one of downtown's bar-hoppingest blocks. One of them was struck in the face with a wine glass – yikes – and had to be taken to the hospital for her injuries. The other was arrested.

;(2010-370545) 7:41 p.m. – A dude on S. Lee Avenue was "confronted" by three armed men carrying an AK-47, a silver semi-automatic handgun and a black revolver. There's not much more to this story, but it's really scary enough as it is.

;(2010-372357) 11:56 p.m. – Sometimes we wish we could be a fly on the wall, because there's probably more to this story than appears in the report. Officer Jackson, 33, "was battered by Willie Benjamin," who is described in the report as a "thin/small" 53-year-old man. "Benjamin was arrested for battery of an LEO and resisting. Sgt. Lowe completed the use of force." Dunno what kind of force it was, but we're pretty sure it must have hurt.
(2010-371140) 1:35 a.m. – This one hits a little too close to home for those of us who think we live in pretty safe neighborhoods: Some dudes were seen driving around in a dark-colored Chevy Impala near 618 N. Mills Ave. – that's right below East Colonial Drive, just a couple of blocks from this very office. "These suspects were then seen shooting from the vehicle and left the area prior to police arrival. No victims were located ;at this time."

;(2010-372818) 8:07 a.m. – Someone broke into a warehouse and stole nothing – not even the copper from the air conditioners!

;(2010-374475) 7:39 a.m. – More copper theft. Because you can never get tired of copper theft, right? This time a guy pried open a fence at Heinmiller Heating and Cooling, smashed the window of a van, then took a compressor, some coils, copper tubing and some other parts from old AC units on the property.
(2010-375082) 2.52 p.m. – Knife fight in broad daylight on Arnold Palmer Drive. "One of the individuals threw a knife at the other individuals. The knife caused a deep laceration to the face of the intended target. The individual who was wounded by the knife grabbed two butcher knives and threatened the individual who threw the knife." Nobody gets out of this one clean: "An arrest was made on one of the individuals and charges were filed on the other." It's all fun and games until someone gets slashed in the face with a knife and the cops get called.
