PETA protester dressed as orca arrested at Orlando airport

A PETA protestor dressed in an orca suit was arrested after he and another orca protester climbed a baggage carousel at Orlando International Airport to call on tourists to stay away from SeaWorld Orlando.

Bryan Wilson, of Winter Springs, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespass after he and another person in an orca suit held signs saying "SeaWorld: Orcas Deserve Better" and "SeaWorld Hurts Orcas," PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) says in a press release. The protest came days after SeaWorld San Antonio announced the death of 18-year-old killer whale Unna, who "suffered from a resistant strain of a fungus called Candida," the company said in a statement.

“PETA’s protester may have to spend a night in a jail cell, but that’s nothing compared to the lifelong imprisonment of orcas at SeaWorld, who are without freedom, family, or anything else that’s natural and important to them,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman in a statement. “Nobody with a heart should ever buy a ticket to SeaWorld, not during the holidays or any other time of the year.”
