Of course a guy named 'Wildman' caught a 17-foot Florida python

"Biggest snake I ever caught in my life right here. It's like Andre the Giant versus Hulk Hogan, Wrestlemania," said the appropriately named Dusty "The Wildman" Crumm to WFOR.

According to the station, Crumm tracked down and killed the nearly 17-foot, 130-pound invasive Burmese python in the Florida Everglades, and will take home a hefty bounty of $375, thanks a new program from the South Florida Water Management District.

It's also worth noting that Crumm's mega-snake was pregnant with 78 eggs.

While Crumm's python is the largest to be killed during this year's snake hunt, it's not the largest of all time. The biggest snake to be officially captured and recorded was an 18-foot, 10-inch beast that weighed 160 pounds.

Burmese pythons, which are capable of laying 50 to 100 eggs each, have been offloaded into the Everglades by unsatisfied pet owners for decades, says the FWC.

As a result, the non-native snakes have reproduced into a sizable population and some wildlife experts say they pose a significant threat to indigenous birds, reptiles, mammals, pretty much anything they can fit into their mouths.
