Kurt Vonnegut is in heaven

If you found yourself saying, â??Who the fuck cares about Don Imus anyway?â?, you are more likely than one of the people that is pissed at the fact that the media is still nattering on about that cowboy-hat wearing fossil and largely ignoring Kurt Vonnegutâ??s death. I was going to say â??So it goes,â? but thatâ??s trite so never mind.

I was also going to wax poetic about being introduced to Vonnegutâ??s brilliant work by my mom (thanks mom!), but it would just bore you. I will note that I interviewed Vonnegut once, while working for a newspaper in Madison, Wis., and came away very sad and depressed by the whole thing. Vonnegut had just written Timequake, a book that pretty much said â??I quit.â? Vonnegut had every right to quit, of course, but itâ??s tough to watch people you admire give up.

Anyway, R.I.P. Kurt.

One of the things Vonnegut was always nattering on about was how people should be kind to one another because itâ??s all weâ??ve got. In that spirit, check out the following website, all about how Disney is not very kind to employees. Apparently they want the moon, stars, health insurance and job security, which is just way too much to ask at the Happiest Place on Earth.
