It's no secret that Florida is full of alligators. Yet it's alway unsettling when you discover an 8-foot maneater in your family pool.
This was the case for one Boca Raton resident who woke up Monday morning to find an 8-foot-long gator taking a dip in the backyard pool. Boca Raton Police arrived on the scene and stayed a safe distance away, while the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission trapped and removed the reptile.
Finding the closest thing to a living dinosaur in your pool isn't uncommon for Florida, especially in the summer months. Last August there was an
8-foot gator in a resident's pool in Lithia, and in May there was
another in a pool in Venice, as well.
