Yes, those blockades on I-4 that made you late last week were because two presidential hopefuls visited the swing part of the swing state. Hillary Clinton's speech in Kissimmee focused on jobs before it was derailed by the attendance of Seddique Mateen, the father of the Pulse gunman Omar Mateen. Donald Trump's remarks in Kissimmee didn't stray far from his usual sound bites, which now include the false claim that President Obama and Clinton are the founders of ISIS.
Rubio gives a strange speech at religious conference
Activists protested the attendance of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Trump at a religious conference featuring noted anti-gay speakers on the two-month anniversary of Pulse. While acknowledging LGBT folk have experienced years of discrimination, Rubio also said "traditional marriage" should be "elevated and set apart in our laws," which sounds a lot like something that starts with "d" and ends with "iscrimination" to us.
Grayson thinks Rubio should adopt Zika babies
After Rubio's comments that women infected with Zika shouldn't be allowed abortions, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, clapped back in the Miami New Times, saying Rubio should then be willing to adopt every baby born with severe microcephaly, given the high medical costs of caring for these children.
