U.S. Rep. Gwen Graham, D-Tallahassee, says she's "seriously considering running for governor in 2018," instead of re-election, according to a video released by her campaign.
Graham, who is the daughter of former U.S. senator and Florida Gov. Bob Graham, says her "fair district" was turned into "two partisan districts" after the Florida Supreme Court ordered congressional districts to be redrawn.
"Our state government is just dysfunctional, and this causes me to rethink how I can best serve the people of North Florida and our state. Floridians are hungry for new leadership," Graham says in the video. "Public servants must focus on the job they're elected to do, so I will spend the remainder of my term fully representing you in Congress, but I will not seek re-election while considering this next step of service."
Others who have been rumored to possibly make a bid to be Florida's governor include Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, according to the Miami Herald.
