George Zimmerman, a local child killer who was acquitted for the murder of Trayvon Martin in 2012, has listed the firearm used in the incident on the auction site Gunbroker.com.

Calling it an "opportunity to own a piece of American history,” Zimmerman listed the gun Thursday morning, May 12, and plans to begin bidding at 11 a.m. EST.

The gun, which Zimmerman used to kill the unarmed 17-year-old, is a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm and is billed as a “collectible firearm.”

Zimmerman's starting price is $5,000.

Along with posting pictures of the gun from the trial, Zimmerman wrote,  “Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American history. It has been featured in several publications and in current university text books. Offers to purchase the firearm have been received; however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with.”

Zimmerman also mentioned in the gun's description that he was "proud to announce" that a portion of the gun's proceeds will go toward fighting the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as "the demise of Angela Correy's persecution career," who was the prosecutor in his case from 2012, and "Hillary Clinton's anti-firearm rhetoric."

According to the Guardian, the Trayvon Martin foundation said it had “no comment on the actions of that person.”
