Today the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hears about the insane allegations against Planned Parenthood that came seemingly out of nowhere earlier this summer when antiabortion group the Center for Medical Progress released the first of several heavily edited videos that claimed that the organization was engaging in illegal and medically unethical practices.
Today is also the day Planned Parenthood and its supporters are asking people who care about the future of Planned Parenthood and the services it provides to openly show their support. They're calling Tuesday, Sept. 29, Pink Out Day, and people who stand by Planned Parenthood are planning to show it by wearing pink, decking out their social media profiles with pink, Tweeting their support and organizing supporting events. Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., at 1 p.m., women's rights activists plan to deliver petitions with more than 2 million signatures to Congress, asking it not to defund Planned Parenthood – something all of your favorite conservative politicians are pushing for.
In honor of Pink Out Day – and to remind people that Planned Parenthood is not solely an abortion provider, but also a provider of lots of vital healthcare services – Planned Parenthood locations across the country are offering
