Follow the progress and planning of UCF downtown campus on new website

UCF has set up a new page on its website where you can track the planning and progress of its proposed new downtown campus, which is supposed to be constructed as part of the Creative Village, a long-discussed downtown development planned on and around the site of the old Amway Arena. The new webpage doesn't reveal a whole lot of new information, but it does bring all of the information that's been flying around about the expansion campus to one central location. It also contains this sort-of-cool online flip book that lays out the concept and vision for the campus project. One thing that's notable about this site: It points out that funding is still not in place to make this campus a reality. If the money does come through, though (and with all of the pomp and circumstance surrounding the announcement, it would be completely embarrassing and a slap in the face to Orlando if it did not), construction could begin as early as Spring 2016, and students could begin attending classes in Fall 2017.

Dependent upon state funding and approval by the Florida Board of Governors, construction could begin in Summer 2016 with an ambitious goal to open the campus in Fall 2017. The campus would open with housing, parking and dedicated transportation to and from UCF’s main campus.

Check out the flipbook below for a more detailed description of UCF's plans:
