Landing a one-man gyrocopter on the U.S. Capitol lawn as a political protest and being arrested for it is apparently not enough excitement for Doug Hughes this year. Now, the Ruskin mail carrier wants a spot in Congress.

The Associated Press reports Hughes is a Democrat and plans to run against a South Florida Democrat who is "the poster child for establishment politics." The AP alludes that this could be U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Hughes, who pled guilty to the stunt in November, decided to fly to Washington D.C. to protest financial corruption in U.S. politics with letters for all 535 members of Congress. His continued campaign finance reform efforts propelled him to run for a spot in the House of Representatives.

"I was dead serious when I flew, and I'm just as serious now," Hughes told the AP
