According to WalletHub, Orlando and Salt Lake City are the two best cities for singles ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last week, WalletHub (a company which might exist simply to put out statistical surveys that make you go "wait what now?") informed us that they had put together a list of the Top 10 Best and Worst Cities for Singles.

No. 1? Salt Lake City. No. 2? Orlando, the City Beautiful.

WalletHub: "To identify the cities in which singles have the highest chance of finding a significant other, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities across 25 key metrics. Our data set ranges from the percentage of singles to the number of online-dating opportunities to the number of attractions in each city."

Us: "Well, OK ...." The key metrics:

The Dating Scene in Orlando (1=Best; 75=Avg.)
1st – Number of Nightlife Options per Capita
1st – Number of Restaurants per Capita
8th – Number of Cafes per Capita
33rd – Mobile Dating Opportunities
33rd – % of Single Persons
48th – Online Dating Opportunities

However, this writer at Paste wasn't going to let it go that easily. Shane Ryan's rant was a lot more amusing than the original survey, and it's worth a visit. Highlight: "Here’s who you can actually date in Orlando: a woman with rashes everywhere because she has to wear a Daisy Duck costume in 120-degree heat from April to September."

Orlando is the place where I witnessed an unhinged woman scream at a McDonald’s drive-thru attendant about orange juice, and realized it was one of the most charming things I had seen during my entire stay. There is no way—no possible way—that it is anywhere near the best city for singles. I was going to say that I’d rather be single in hell, but then I realized that hell is Orlando in summer. Tricked myself!

We hate to say it, but maybe Ryan's got a point? We definitely agree with this:
