A Volusia County alligator hunter has been released from the DeLand hospital after suffering injuries from an alligator attack. 

According to WFTV, Kemp Galleneau took a bite to the leg Sunday morning, Oct. 11, after a he fell off his boat and was attacked by a 12-foot alligator. 

The incident happened at around 9:45 a.m. at the Pine Island Resort campground in Seville, Florida. 

Witnesses  say Galleneau, who had a legal tag for the hunt, fell in the water while trying to harpoon the gator alongside his boat. 

The alligator was killed by another hunter, reports WFTV.
