Just last year, Orlando garage-soul stars the Sh-Booms made enough of an impression with their submission to get featured on NPR's Weekend Edition even though they didn't win.
This year, in a righteous attempt to help boost Central Florida's representation in the national contest, local NPR Member Station 90.7 WMFE is offering its studios – desks included – to area artists to shoot their Tiny Desk video. Space is limited so hit up [email protected] to hook it up.
In addition to that, WMFE is further spotlighting local music by holding its own associated competition. They'll share the video submissions from Central Florida and put them up for public voting. The top five will be highlighted in Matthew Peddie's hyper-local show Intersection.
