In a world where the trappings of rock music and rock festivals become increasingly professional and workaday, musical chaos agents are a breath of fresh air. It's just weird that one of them is an aging British singer with a penchant for dramatics.

Morrissey was among the first wave of headline announcements for this year's Riot Fest in Chicago, alongside the Misfits and Social Distortion. But yesterday a post appeared on a Morrissey fan site (True To You) that the singer usually uses as a forum for announcements: "As of this date (May 23), Morrissey is not a part of this year’s Chicago Riot Fest." Maybe he's not a Deftones fan?

As of this afternoon that post has disappeared from True To You's frontpage. And no further word has been issued from either Morrissey or Riot Fest. I hope Morrissey strings them on for weeks. True divas always keep them wanting more.
