Every hardcore punk show should include at least one thoroughly capitalized compound band name. How else can one discern between yet another Screeching Weasel fan-club meeting and a concert they’ll actually remember just by glancing over a flier? Ryan Pemberton, O-town native and founder of 90 Proof Productions, understands the need to preserve the unmistakable atmosphere of a live punk-rock experience in the city. This show features a headlining performance from South Carolina’s Nailbiter, a permanently pissed power-violence trio erupting with ardent inertia. Tonight’s venue, Sip, provides a swanky, well-furnished aesthetic rather than the routine beer-coated tile skating rink. Joining the keratin-crunching punks are local attention-deficient grindcore aficionados Abuse and the equally hard-bitten Centuries and Recreant, rounding out the West Palm-Tampalando billing with congenial crusty chaos. – Jared Oates Haggard
